I think Macon is pretty unique just because it's kind of like a city but it also has some small town vibes to it. You get that, you know, all those local restaurants, local businesses and stuff like that, and the people here really get to know you. So I think that's just saying that like being part of the Mercer community, we talk about that too. But being part of the Mercer community also means that you're part of the Macon community. Macon offers a lot to do with little time you do have in law school, whether it's hanging out in a brewery with friends or going on a hike around some of the nature areas around here. Or even visiting some of the historic parts of town. It's kind of offers a little bit for everyone.
It's very easy to talk friends into taking a break and going to eat somewhere downtown. Some of my favorite places are of moggy brew pub, the rookery, h&h soul food. And so it's a great place to go and take your mind off school for a few hours and hang out with friends.
One of my favorite places in Macon is Amerson River Park. You're in nature, but it'd be like a super safe place to go run. They have playgrounds if you have kids, they have trails for biking. So on the first Friday of every month, you can come downtown and a lot of the small business owners will have booths or restaurants will have specific deals for First Friday. You can go shopping, you can have dinner, you can hang out with friends and listen to local music, and it's on the first Friday of every month. So it's a consistent hangout opportunity.
